The West Cure
Logline
In 1890, William Taylor - a young, promising New York political figure - is diagnosed with a strange anxiety disorder called “neurasthenia.” In order to rid him of his illness, William is told that he must go West and “rough it” at a remote ranch on the edge of the American prairie. His wife, Lauren, demands that she and the children accompany him there. But as the family settles in and becomes acquainted with this unforgiving world, they begin to wonder whether William’s cure will be worse than his affliction. William slowly loses his grip on reality and his close-knit family becomes at odds with what his handlers wish him to be.
